K e y s : Imposture of Rime - Tamas Panitz
The first of the S p e l s series of chapbooks.
Written in honor of Robert Duncan’s centennial (1/7/19) Panitz evokes through the mantic wilds of his language a new sensibility to that elusive notion Duncan drew us towards : rime.
A rhyming not just of sounds, but of events & the natures of things. A resonance perhaps like hoarfrost in the heat of recognition, (an atemporal glimpse?) providing the possibility of a path out of our afflictions? Keys that lead beyond even the symmetries of pattern. (That usual resting place.)
As Newberger can be read, these Keys, in their imposture:
“transport us across . . further than any dare, into the forest of doors.
. . esoteric? For whatever can be said is a secret; held out to some other. Our key . . swift oncoming with unspeakable news. Keys to be boiled in a pan, to rarify the wood.“
